Each civilization has its own special characteristics - some of them are expansionists and conquerors, while ohters are really peaceful. You will be able to choose among a huge arsenal of weapons, beginning with primitive archers and warriors, then catapults, knights,... and eventually with modern tanks, submarines, helicopter gunships or nuclear weapons.

But Civilization IV IV is more than just fighting, you will have to take on account diplomatic cunning, cultural or religious alliances, and technological dominance if you want to become the most powerful.
